Wonderful lunch. We had the Polvo à Lagariero and the Bochechas de Porco. Both were excellent. Good service. No one spoke english and the menus were in Portuguese but with phone translators it’s easy. The red by the glass I had also was very good.

We stopped by Golden Hour shortly after arriving in Elvas. The restaurant was near our hotel and, being tired and hungry, we were happy that they were able to accommodate us without a reservation on a Friday night. We were even happier to discover that they had some yummy vegan options! We shared the mushrooms and garlic starter, which was perfectly delicious. For mains, we had the green beans (like tempura beans) with tomato rice and also the chickpea burgers with salad and tomato rice, again sharing both options. We also enjoyed two glasses of red sangria. For dessert, we had a delectable, tangy and sweet, lemon mousse. Everything was so fresh and delicious and prepared and served with pride and love. Sometimes it seems, what you can expect from restaurant in a small border city? Now I know - expect only the best! My respect to the owner and stuff, especially to the lady from South Africa, she made our visit a true gastronomic and cultural adventure. If you be in Elvas, absolutely must-visit place.

Everything perfect, quality, quantity, service, wine, attentive staff and delicious food. I had the fried greens, then half portions of cod and slow cooked pork, didnt want bread so was offered rice, nice touch. Obrigado

Really nice lunch! Tried the battered fried beans which are a must! Great service in english from a lovely south african server. Definitely recommend if you’re ever in Elvas

...yet another excellent meal in Elvas, in the northern reaches of the Alentajo region. (It's east of Evora and well worth the visit.)
Although the name/logo is a bit commercial sounding/looking, the food, service, and ambiance are all top notch.
First off...again with the couvert - YES, PLEASE! The bread, the herbed butter, the olives, and the cheese could have been a meal on their own because the portion was so healthy and the flavors so amazing, and at only 7.5 Euros, was a total bargain. (The cheese was a well-worth it 4 Euro add-on, otherwise it would have been 3.5 total.)
Next up was my favorite veggie in Portugal - Peixhinos da Horta ("fish from the garden") - battered and deep-fried green beans. We also got the Cogumeles ao Alhinho (mushrooms with garlic), which is one of the only mushroom dishes I've ever returned to for seconds. (I don't normally like mushrooms.) Our final appetizer was the Tiborna de Coentros e Alho, which is basically the best bruschetta/garlic bread we could hope for.
For main dishes we had half orders of the Bacalhau Dourado (Golden Cod) and Carne d' Alguidar. Both are Alentajo specialties, with rumor being that the Golden Cod was invented in Elvas. (It's a warm shoestring potato and cod casserole of sorts, although I like to call it a "cod salad" so I can claim I'm eating salad.) Whether it was invented here or not, it was the best Golden Cod we've ever had and the Carne d' Alguidar, what with its Alentajo seasoning, was simply divine. (It came with some sort of bread stuffing, which was also delicious and went perfectly with the beef.) And these were HALF ORDER portions, if you can believe it!!!
In our opinion this is the best restaurant in Elvas, and after meeting Chef Carlos and learning of his passion for, and take on, authentic local dishes (he is from Elvas, but trained in Evora), it's no wonder why this restaurant is so good. We cannot wait to return with friends in the near future.- Estacionamento

Delicious bacalhau. It’s hard to choose one dessert all of them are delightful. Good prices per meal. Great attention from waiters. When I come back to Elvas no hesitate to eat there again.

Tatiana made us feel so welcome, explaining menu options and working with our food preferences! All the food she recommended was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious! Excellent, excellent service, food and the restaurant itself was beautifully designed.

I think this was the best meal I've had in Portugal so far. Fantastic atmosphere, kind and knowledgeable service, and stellar food. Great vegetarian options! They opened a week ago. The hours on Google seem off though; they opened for dinner around 19.30 on a Tuesday, for example. Gezellig en lekker eten.

The food at this venue was exceptional. The staff were as excellent as the food. Don’t over order as the main meal serve size was very generous and I can’t fault it in any way. Along with the excellent staff and food I thought it was great value for money.

Awesome meat and local dishes on the menu, very nice atmosphere, everything at more than reasonable prices. What stood out really was the service, everyone was so welcoming and nice to us. You could see how the kitchen staff and waitresses had passion for what they did - makes all the difference! Super recommend!

The vegan hamburgers were the best I have ever had, I have been a vegetarian for quite some years and I have never tasted anything meatless that tasted so good! Really amazing and the service was incredibly good. The other vegetarian option was also very good!

Great restaurant in the center of Elvas, with two vegan options: vegan (chickpea) burgers with three different flavors, and the house specialty: peixinhos da horta! Both were absolutely delicious, served with Portuguese style tomato rice. Great house wine, very friendly staff, a great place for vegans!
